Ram double ou simple slot

If the specific motherboard has 24 memory slots, 12 slots belong to the first CPU and the other 12 to the other CPU. In cases where only one CPU slot is occupied, the CPU cannot use the other set of RAM sticks. This rarely happens since dual processor servers always have both slots occupied.

Jan 14, 2021 · If you have two slots and your motherboard supports dual-channel, setting it up is often as easy as just inserting a second memory module and booting up. Courtesy: GamersNexus. If you have 4 slots, however, things are a bit more complicated. Your motherboard manual will tell you which slots to insert your RAM modules if you want to enable dual-channel. Jul 15, 2019 · To understand the different types of RAM slots, we need to look at what types of RAM modules exist and how they differ. Once you know that, it will be easy to figure out why RAM slots are also Jul 02, 2018 · Actual performance between Single Channel vs Dual Channel memory may differ, which is discussed further. Interleaving. Interleaved memory is a design made to compensate for the relatively slow speed of Dynamic Random-Access Memory (DRAM) or core memory. This is done by spreading the memory addresses evenly across memory banks. Jul 15, 2010 · single sided = memory chips on one side of RAM module double sided = memory chips on both sides of RAM module. There is no rocket science involved in trying to figure it out. The rest of the crap you went on about involves "ranking" & that is a completely different issue. I posted a link that explains what that is all about. Feb 01, 2021 · Run 16GB in single channel mode (i.e. in mis-matched RAM slots) to show that it's not the size of the RAM that makes a difference (rather than just removing one stick). RAM slot, socket, or a memory slot is a gap on your computer’s motherboard where you can insert your RAM. Depending on the motherboard type, there might be up to four memory sockets.

An elaboration on this approach is the so-called dynamic perfect hashing, where a bucket that contains k entries is organized as a perfect hash table with k 2 slots. While it uses more memory (n 2 slots for n entries, in the worst case and n × k slots in the average case), this variant has guaranteed constant worst-case lookup time, and low If you have two slots and your motherboard supports dual-channel, setting it up is often as easy as just inserting a second memory module and booting up. Generally, two ranks of memory (two single-rank modules or one dual-rank) would not affect memory speed (and will even increase memory productivity to about 10%). Four ranks (one quad-rank, two dual-rank or four single-rank) will demand to lower memory speed on one step (making total productivity about the same as with the only single-rank module). In order to benefit of the dual channel functionality put the two ram sticks (btw, they're double sided, ehehehe) in slot 2 and 4 (just as you said) and they will work at full 400MHz. The limitation of 4 sticks running at 333MHz instead of 400MHz is due to the Athlon's integrated memory controller, but most mobos (included your MSI i suppose To find the amount of memory per slot, divide the maximum amount of memory that the computer can hold by the number of memory slots on the motherboard. Usually, this is the maximum amount for each memory socket. For example, if the computer is capable of holding a maximum of 4096 MB (4 GB) of memory and the motherboard has four memory slots

The concept of memory rank applies to all memory module form factors, though in general it tends to matter primarily on server platforms, due to the larger amounts of memory they manage. A memory rank is a block or area of data that is created using some, or all, of the memory chips on a module. A rank is a data block that is 64 bits wide.
